    Hefeweizen

Santa Cruz Ale Works Hefeweizen This blonde colored ale has its roots firmly planted in Germany but has adapted well to suit the taste of the American public. By nature it is unfiltered as Hefeweizen means wheat beer with yeast in German. Unlike our Bavarian counterparts, this wheat beer does not have the same banana and clove undertones or esters. These flavors are typically formed during fermentation are not the result of adding spices or fruit flavorings. Our hefe starts off with a nice, balanced wheat malt profile and then finishes off with a light lemon/orange citrus essence. Approx 5.3% Alc./Vol.

India Pale Ale

    IPA

Santa Cruz Ale Works I.P.A. Another excellent example of how brewers out West can manipulate hops. Originally designed by the British, this style was made with more hops and alcohol in order to survive the long travelling ships from Great Britain to India, at the time a new English Colony. This lightly colored ale is very aggressively hopped from start to finish. From the first sip the hop bitterness and aroma are overwhelming then rounds off nicely with a citrusy finish. Including dry-hopping we use over 30 lbs. per batch (2 lbs. per bbl) Approx 6.5% Alc.
